The Art of Rock & Roll

Music is experiential in a way similar to art. Perhaps more visceral, or at least it is more universal, allowing for an immersive and participatory reaction. As part of my ongoing series of Real-Fake Perceptions and the inherent proposition of “what is art, what is beauty,” that is always the nagging question at the core of such dialogue, I paused to muse on works created in connection to music. As such, I immediately thought of my friend, artist-photographer Stephen Joester and decided to pay him a weekend visit at his east end Long Island home and studio.

Joe Biden Breaking News

Joe Biden was the the Keynote speaker at the Concordia Summit 2015. He released breaking news from the stage in light of the most recent school shooting, He has often been cited as a man of integrity, which in Washington, D.C. is certainly not a given. Jason Basso and I were on hand covering the event live but nothing will make your hand tremble more as an editor than being asked to take the liberty of trimming down the VP's speech to a highlights length. Well, hopefully we did so with equal integrity. Thanks Joe!

Are Latin America and the Caribbean the Next COVID-19 Hotspots?

As new confirmed cases in the US slow in key states and with many European countries reporting declining new infection rates, coronavirus cases have been rising sharply in many Latin American countries, with health authorities declaring it the new epicenter of the global pandemic. With Brazil's numbers soaring to the second-highest in the world, other countries in the region, including Mexico, Chile, and Peru, are struggling to contain major outbreaks.
